Executive Master of Business Administration

Americas MBA

Ca

This is a part-time, in-person program in Vancouver, Canada; unfortunately, international students are not eligible to apply.

Our international students are encouraged to explore our Full-Time MBA, Graduate Diploma in Business Administration or Master of Science in Finance programs.

The Americas MBA for Executives is an optional stream that gives EMBA students in their second year the opportunity to study relevant management issues at universities in Canada, Brazil, Mexico and the USA, the four largest economies in the Americas.

The elective responds to a growing need among companies and students for business instruction focused more deeply around concerns specific to the Americas markets. In this stream, you’ll prepare a significant company-based strategic analysis as your capstone project, to demonstrate the depth and breadth of your enhanced capacities.

If you elect to take the Americas MBA for Executives, you will study with your EMBA cohort as usual during the first year. For your second year, you’ll get together with students from the partner universities to take your final courses over four intensive nine-day residencies at the participating schools.

At each campus, your international cohort will meet at partner universities to complete coursework, observe local business practices, attend cultural events and collaborate on a two term global capstone strategy project.

  • As well as forming part of your SFU Beedie EMBA, you earn an additional Graduate Certificate in Business in the Americas.
  • Classes and coursework are in English.
  • There is no additional tuition for the Americas MBA for Executives stream, however you are responsible for their your accommodation, travel and living expenses.

Your Americas EMBA elective will start in Vancouver, Canada and end in Nashville, USA with stops in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Mexico City, Mexico. Each of the four schools you’ll study at deliver a curriculum that draws on its core strengths.

Canada, Brazil, Mexico and the United States of America collectively represent the largest economies on two continents. It’s an increasingly dynamic and interconnected area of trade and economic activity.

The learners I work with are 95% Indigenous, and I find that they become more interested and retain information more, when we speak and learn from an Indigenous lens. The Indigenous content integrated into the program has been very beneficial to me in terms of how I can incorporate Indigenous information into the curriculum I currently teach.
